One of the greatest quotes about being a writer comes from George Buchanan who says. “The novel is an event in consciousness. Our aim isn't to copy actuality, but to modify and recreate our sense of it. The novelist is inviting the reader to watch a performance in his own brain.”
Not only do I love to write, but I love to read.  At a young age I fell in love with the power of words and the escape of fairy tales.  A great book does have the ability to take us, the readers, us on an epic journey.  We may find ourselves on another planet.  Or wake in the darkness of a forest.  Maybe that journey took us down dusty roads, through haunted houses or even stranded us in a mountain cabin with a trio of hot me.
When we read we may laugh, cry or do both.  We may connect with the heroine, daydream about the hero, and find we need to know more about those characters we have gone on that journey with.  So, all that being said I want to hear from you.  Tell me about some of your favorite books.  Tell me why you loved them or about your favorite characters.  Leave a quote or favorite line from the books you love.
Starting today, August 9th and running until Thursday, August 11th you have the chance to win an autographed book cover note card, with my new book cover Enchanted printed on the front and my signature on the back.

All you need to do is leave a comment on this link about your favorite book/books and an email address where you can be reached.  On Friday, August 12th I will announce the winners.  Yep, I did say WINNERS.  There will be more than one winner.

  1. “Before you, Bella, my life was like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars — points of light and reason… And then you shot across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty. When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black. Nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by the light. I couldn’t see the stars anymore. And there was no more reason for anything.” Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 23, p.514

Mid Week Tease - Don't Stop Watching

*Waves* I know I've been gone from Mid Week Tease a long, long time. But I'm back!!!

This week I've got a little something from Forever & Always, Two Hearts, One Soul Duet: Book Two which is soon to be released.

With the phone to his ear, Cayden turned and looked at me, his sapphire gaze roaming from the hair piled in a messy bun atop my head, to my bubble-gum-pink-painted toenails before he smiled. My heart thrummed. Reaching out, he pulled me onto his lap where I willingly went, and picked up a pen from beside my laptop. Then, he crooked his head, holding the handset to the cordless in place against his shoulder to free his other hand and took a hold of mine. Curious, I wondered what he was up to. Cayden turned my hand over, palm side up. Swiped his fingers softly over my palm once. Wrote, I Love U,boldly across it. And then he curled my fingers closed, securing the words tight within the palm of my hand before he moved his hands from mine and took hol…
