When Katie’s past comes back to haunt her, can she trust Chad enough, or will it be too late?

Katie Thomas has been living a secret life for four years to keep safe. All of that is about to come to a crashing halt when the ex who tried to kill her shows up again. She’s scared and not sure what to do, until she moves next door to fellow doctor, Chad Davis. He’s the last person she wants to live next door to, but one sizzling night together has her yearning for more. The only thing that stands in her way is what he wants in and out of the bedroom; it’s a threat to everything she’s ever believed.

Can he help Katie unlock her hidden desires and show her that this is more than a fling for him?

Chad Davis has always had a thing for the sexy doctor. Assigned to protect Katie, he is determined to bring down her ex to help him get on with his life, finally. His reasons are personal, but one sizzling night together in his bed is all it takes for his priorities to shift. He is not giving her up, no matter how much she insists she is not right for him.

A Little About Alyssa Fox
Alyssa didn't start off wanting to write for a living. She wanted to be a nurse at first, but then it turned into being a mom. Being at home with four small children, she needed an outlet. Alyssa started out writing a YA book, but it took a bad turn, and that's when she found her genre with smoking hot sex scenes.
Alyssa now resides in the beautiful mountains of southern West Virginia with her loving husband and four wonderful children who put up with her writing craziness. They have been shushed more than once so she could write down something a character was saying.
As a stay at home mom and the family taxi driver, she still finds time to write about
the alpha heroes and strong-willed heroines who keep her imagination running wild.

Welcome, Alyssa! Tell us a little about the inspiration to write Bound To Protect.
Thank you, London for having me on your blog. Well, Chad and Katie we’re in my debut book in a small part. I never saw them as a big part or even getting their own book that’s until I got further into that book. There was one scene in the book where the main character from the first book, Erin, was talking to her best friend Katie, about work. And Chad and the hero in that book, Kyle, are talking in the same room before a meeting is to start.

Something my readers didn’t see in that book, which I did and chose not to put in the book, that Chad kept looking over at Katie and longing to be with her. That’s how Bound started to be born. I started thinking about what if I gave them a book.
*Smiles*
What genre are you classified in, and what draws you to this genre? I write erotic and also contemporary romance. I love the romance genre and couldn’t see myself writing anything else. I love writing erotic and suspense with it because you get to see the characters grow emotionally, sexually and physically. There’s just something exciting to me about seeing that. For contemporary, I do that because I like to slow things down at times and not write such erotic sex scenes, but they are still hot.
In your writing process what comes first? Names, places, plot, etc… It depends on the story which comes first. With this book, it was the characters that came first.
I know when I’m writing my characters seem to “tell” me in what direction they want to go with their story. How about you? My characters are a bossy bunch at times. I do plot so I know where I’m going, but they still will surprise me with things.
We have a lot in common.  I have to listen to music when I write.  Quiet or sort-of-quiet when I do major edits.
What was the most difficult portion of Bound To Protect to write? That would have been Katie’s back story, and when she trusted Chad enough to tell him about what her, ex did to her. It was a very emotional scene to write, and I found myself crying. It even made a beta reader of mine cry.
Along with writing I love to read.  Lately it seems I have less time to read, but I try to find the time.  What was the last book you read? I’m reading three books at this time. Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets, A Man Of His Word by Sarah M Anderson and McKettricks of Texas: Tate by Linda Lael Miller.

Favorite Color? Purple
Favorite Movie? The Notebook and anything by Tyler Perry.
Favorite Book? Wow, I can’t just pick one so any romance.
Favorite Food? Sweet and sour chicken

Are you working on anything new? Yes! If so, what can we expect? Well, Alex and Kevin who are Katie’s brothers are getting their own books. I’m almost done with Alex’s book, and it’s intense. I’ll be working on Kevin’s book next. There might be a book for John from Bound as well. I’m also working on a single title erotic suspense.
Thanks so much for stopping by, Alyssa.  All my best wishes on your new book and with your continuing writing career.  You are welcome to come back to visit any time. Thanks for having me!

AUTHOR JEAN MAXWELL

I am happy to have author Jean Maxwell here with me today.  Her new book, El Mirador is out now by Evernight Publishing.

Building a legacy...can be a beach. Rebuilding it...can be deadly.
Zara Flynn is an ambitious young architect, the daughter of renowned construction owner Tristan Flynn. When Tristan is killed in a jobsite disaster, Zara inherits both Flynn Enterprises and the problem of El Mirador, an abandoned piece of property on the Costa del Sol. Romance and intrigue are the farthest things from Zara’s mind, but gets a bulldozer-load of both when others scheme to steal her inheritance and a sexy Latin pop star tries to seduce her.
Thrown together with handsome engineer David Parker, she determines to discover the secrets of El Mirador as well as the circumstances of Tristan’s death. But Zara is already in danger of being eliminated in the same manner as her father.
As they get closer to the answers, Dave and Zara get closer to each other until their attraction ignites a romantic passion that has no shut-off valve.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Jean.  And congratulations on your new release.  I know we have a lot to talk about, so let’s dive in. *Smiles*
Tell us a little about yourself and how you took the plunge into writing.
My background is a little like a car salesman`s jacket – checkered! By and large I`m an artist, having spent many years in the graphic design field, but my first area of study was in engineering design and drafting which gave rise to my Heroine’s character. I’ve always been interested in creative writing and when I read Chris Baty`s (the founder of NaNoWriMo) book ‘No plot no problem’ I felt empowered to give life to the story brewing in my head.
What genre or genres do you write in?
I currently write in romantic suspense but have always been a sci-fi fan and noting the strong appetite for paranormal and YA fiction can see myself writing something along those lines in the future.
What was the inspiration to write El Mirador?
Some years ago I visited Spain and the cities in which my story takes place. At that time I saw an aabandoned building along the coast almost exactly as described in the novel. I was fascinated by the mystery of it and what might have happened to it long ago.
I would love to go to Spain, and love old abandoned buildings.  I too can look at a old place and wonder about the mystery of it.  :D

Here’s a taste of El Mirador:
David lay wide awake, feeling the breeze on his skin, listening to the birds, taking in every detail of the moment. The white paneled walls, the cool cotton of the sheets, and most of all, the gorgeous girl sleeping next to him.
He wanted to touch her, kiss her, make love to her again as he had last night and hear her soft moans as he pleasured her. But he didn’t dare to wake her just yet. The picture was so perfect, so blissful, he felt suspended in time and feared that if he moved a muscle the scene might burst like a bubble and be only a dream.
He breathed deeply to catch the scent of her perfume. He tried to commit to memory the look of her hair cascading across the pillow, her eyelashes, the lightly freckled nose, the silver chain and dolphin pendant nestled at her collarbone.
The white sheet partially covered her nude body. One hand rested across her stomach, the other palm-up on the pillow. One breast lay exposed, and risking that the dream could shatter, he leaned down and licked the nipple, feeling the bumpy texture of it against his tongue. Christ, he felt hard again already. He loved everything about this woman, wanted to possess her forever.
He moved upward with his tongue, tracing a line to her throat, over her chin, and across her lips. Her closed eyes began to twitch and flutter open. She blinked, bringing him into focus. A smile crept across her face as she looked back at him. He almost felt relieved that she recognized him, that it hadn’t all been a dream and she was here in the present with him. He smiled down at her.
“Good morning, Montreal.”
“Hey, Thunder Bay,” she replied. “Or should I say, Thunder Boy?” She grinned sleepily.
Dave hoped he hadn’t made quite as much noise during their lovemaking as all that, but if he’d made her feel like she’d been caught in a crashing, rollicking Great Lakes thunderstorm and liked it, that pleased him.
She reached up and put her hand on his cheek. “Are you real?”
He turned his face so that her finger slipped between his lips and he bit it gently. “Afraid so, mademoiselle. Anything else you’d like to know?”
She smiled mischievously. “Yeah, are you ready for round two?”
He raised his eyebrows twice in a villainous fashion and leaned down to kiss her. “Ding, ding,” he answered, mimicking a ringside bell. He let their lips find each other again as he pulled the sheet away. He laid against her, his stiff cock showing her exactly how ready he was.
His hand followed the outer curve of her breast with an open palm then circled the edge of her nipple with his fingertips. They stiffened instantly and he could hear her soft sigh even though he kept her lips fully occupied. He broke their kiss in favor of taking the taut, pink-brown berry in his mouth. He swirled his tongue around it and sucked, thinking no food or drink on earth would ever taste this sweet. She groaned and leaned her head back against the pillow. Oh, he could do so much more for her.
Taking more of her breast in his mouth, he sucked harder and slid his hand down to her hip, then across her abdomen. Settling his fingers in her pubic hair, he rubbed her mound gently before sliding a finger into the wetness between her legs. She gasped and arched her back as she moved into his touch. Her slickness made his dick throb with wanting to enter her. But not yet.
He stroked her sweet hot-button of flesh and heard her breath catch with each pass. He slipped one finger inside her, then two, moving them slowly in and out until she moaned aloud.
The pressure of blood in his dick rose to a maddening level. He felt as though he’d break apart if he didn’t fuck her right this second, but no, he’d finish her and watch it happen. His mouth left her breasts and he dragged his lips across and down her belly. He heard his own voice whispering her name, “Zara...” Though it sounded ethereal and bodiless as if floating above them.
Instinctively she raised her knees and Dave thought he just might die of pleasure as he brought his head between her thighs and tasted her sex, his tongue taking plunging strokes against her clit.
Her hands rested on his head, fingers entwined in his hair as she followed his motion. He looked up and, incredibly, saw her gazing directly back at him as he continued his magic. Their eyes locked while he worked his clever tongue against her until he pushed her over the edge, watching her as she came. He could taste it, smell it, knew he’d reached his goal of bringing her to orgasm. Her eyelids closed as if overwhelmed by the power of it. Her hands trembled as they remained tangled in his hair. Now. He needed her now and moved his body overtop her.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and drew her thighs up on either side of him. So hot and wet, he slid easily into her and felt like he’d been granted permission to enter heaven itself.
Joy and lust collided in his soul as he drove deep, without restraint, again and again. She kissed his face, his neck, rubbed her hands up and down the muscles of his back as she moved in sync with each thrust, accepting him deeply and completely.

Love the excerpt.  What was the hardest part of this book to write? What was the easiest?
Developing the backstory of how and why El Mirador came to be in its present state and the boardroom discussions kept me stumped for awhile, so I wrote other parts of the story before returning to that plotline. The easy bits were describing the setting and the musical performance scenes, as I had been to the place and as a musician myself could easily see the concert in my mind’s eye. The sex scenes started out tame but were significantly ramped up by the time I finished the draft.
How would you describe your writing style?
I think my language is a bit formal, but chalk that up to a lot of reading I guess; reviewers have described my style as smooth, easy to read and strongly voiced. I try to engage all five senses in every scene and am told my descriptive writing is very good.
Do you do anything to get into the “mood” for writing?
Yes, I have to be alone in the house, put on some smooth jazz music (no lyrics, the singer’s words seem to interrupt the flow of mine!) and mix a cocktail or pour a glass of wine before turning on the computer.
I too listen to music when I write.  It does set the mood.
What do you find sexy?
When you read the book, you’ll know.
What is a fun fact about yourself that not everyone knows?
I play clarinet with a community orchestra. And I’m also a not-so-closet Trekkie.
Awesome!

Who are some of your favorite writers?
I love Margaret Atwood, Dan Brown, Michael Korda and YA author A. Lee Martinez, who makes me roll on the floor laughing.

If you could only pick one book to take on a trip, what would it be?
Probably The Da Vinci Code.
Sweet or Spicy?
Spicy. But if I do my job right, I can have both!
What can fans expect to see in the near future?
The sequel to El Mirador is a WIP, I hope to submit it soon, and a prequel is in the works as well. Also a music-inspired series tentatively titled “Overtures.”
Again, thanks for stopping by and congrats on the new release.  I wish you much success with your book sales and with your continuing writing career.  Come back any time and visit.

AUTHOR DORIS O'CONNOR

When fire fighter Alex Giovanni returns to his old neighborhood to fulfill family obligations, he is reunited with the woman inhabiting his dreams. The sexy siren ran out on him after one explosive night many years ago. Hiding behind her sensible clothes she portrays the perfect image of Miss Prim and Proper and Alex vows to unlock the passionate woman he remembers. Mixing business with pleasure has never been so much fun. Kitty Jenkins’ orderly life gets turned upside down when Alex walks into her school. Their passion filled night four years ago has left her with a secret that threatens to tear them apart. Giving into Alex is out of the question, regardless of how much her body craves his touch. When secrets spill and disaster strikes, can their passion turn into love?

Excerpt:
Kitty’s heart beat a strange staccato against her breastbone. What had possessed her to slip back into her school girl outfit, she would never know. Yet here she was, dressed like some third-rate hooker, about to embark on a one night stand. Taking a deep, fortifying breath, she knocked on the door of Alex’s hotel room. All was quiet on the other side, and she was just about to turn round when the door opened; and Kitty’s greeting stuck in her throat.
Dressed in nothing but low riding jeans, Alex smiled at her, and she hastily wrenched her eyes upwards from the incredible abs on display. Covered with a light dusting of chest hair that trailed down to his jeans, they would give any model a run for his money, and Kitty swallowed. Dressed he was bad enough, but like this he was breathtaking, and judging by that lazy smile he knew it, too.
“Room service around here just keeps on getting better.” Alex’s husky voice raised goose bumps on her exposed skin. “Coming in?”
He hooked one finger under her chin and tugged the end of her shirt tails with the other hand, forcing her to take a step toward him.
“I-I shouldn’t be here, really. I’m not sure why I’m even here.” Kitty mumbled the words, and heat spread into her cheeks.
Alex merely smiled and pulled her closer still. “Liar, we both know why you’re here. Question is, my naughty little girl, will you step through the door and expand your curriculum?” Alex’s heated whispers against her ear sent her heart into overdrive, and she leant into his warmth.  His clean, male scent wrapped itself round her senses, and her stomach flip-flopped in delicious anticipation. It had been so long since any man had held her. That had to be the reason for her immediate reaction to this man.
“Well, Sir, that all depends what you have in mind, because I have been very naughty.”
Alex went very still at her breathy statement, and Kitty bit her lip. Has she read this wrong? Was he not up for a little role-play? She hesitantly raised her eyes to his face to read his expression, and the heat in his gaze scorched her skin.
“So, I’ve heard. Come here, and take your punishment.” His deep voice had dropped several octaves, and he grabbed her by the wrist and spun her into the room. The door clicked shut, the sound loud in the quiet room, and before she could even blink, he had her pinned against the wall. One jeans clad thigh spread her legs wide, and he raised her hands high above her head, whilst his other hand blazed a trail of heat along her exposed tummy. His mouth claimed hers in a bruising kiss, and she opened to his quiet demand automatically. His tongue found hers in an erotic dance that left her jelly-legged, breathless, and grateful for his big body holding her up against the wall.
He groaned his approval when she kissed him back, and he deepened the kiss, his fingers slowly slipping south, until they dipped under the elastic of her thong.
“My, you are a naughty girl. What have we here?”
He chuckled into her neck, and Kitty gasped when he thrust one finger into her wet core.
“So wet already, and we’ve only just started.” He flicked her clitoris once, and the slight pain caused a renewed burst of moisture to coat his fingers as he inserted another finger into her and found her g-spot. Kitty moaned into his shoulder as sensations built deep inside her core, and he licked himself down the column of her throat towards her breast. She screamed when he bit one nipple through the shirt and bra and thrust her hips at him, desperate to reach the release his talented fingers were driving her toward.
“Not so fast. You’re being punished, remember.”
Alex smiled and withdrew his fingers.  He licked each digit in turn, murmuring his approval and then stepped back, his heated gaze roaming over her body. Kitty clenched her thighs together in a vain effort to relieve the hot ache in her pussy.
“Spread your legs, naughty girl.” Alex growled the demand, and Kitty’s eyes widened at the steely determination she saw in his face. “You will not come until I give you permission. Do you hear me?”
“Yes.”  Good God, does that porn star voice really belong to me?
Alex’s eyes narrowed, and Kitty automatically dropped her gaze. She licked her lips, seeing the huge erection straining the flies of his jeans. Oh my. He was clearly as turned on as she by their little game. But how far would he take this? And did she trust him enough to find out?
“Yes, what?” His deep voice held an edge of steel, and she bit back her moan. That voice alone would send her over the edge. Who’d have thought a little role-play could be so erotic?
“Yes, Sir.”
“Good girl. Now strip – slowly.”
Alex’s voice brooked no argument, and Kitty hastened to comply. She fumbled with the tails of her blouse until Alex stepped forward and ripped the thing clean off her.
“Not that slowly.”
His eyes wicked, he unhooked her bra and sent that, too, flying. He whistled his approval as her breasts fell free. He cupped each mound in turn, and spun her around and toward the double bed, which took up one side of the hotel room. The slap on her ass took her by surprise, and she yelped. He soothed the sting with his large hand massaging her ass cheeks, and he chuckled into her neck.
His fingers once again dipped into her wet folds, and she froze when he inserted one digit, slick with her juices, into her anus.  Heaven help her, that felt way too good. Heat spread across her skin, and Alex bit into her earlobe, as his fingers continued their erotic dance in and out of her forbidden passage, and her body betrayed her arousal by a renewed gush of moisture between her legs.
“That’s my naughty girl.” Alex’s erratic breathing into her neck pitched her own arousal sky high, and she put up no resistance when he urged her onto the bed, his naked, warm, torso heating her back.
“Get on all fours for me.”

AUTHOR LORRAINE NELSON

Today in the Author's Spotlight is the awesome Lorraine Nelson.

Lorraine Nelson lives in rural New Brunswick, on the east coast of Canada. Always a bookworm, she’s read many novels of romance and mystery over the years, finally deciding to put her pen to work at writing one. “To write romantic suspense is my dream job, although my mom says I was born with an avid imagination and pencil in hand, crafting stories from an early age.”

I am mother to three wonderful boys, grandmother to three fantastic grandsons and a beautiful granddaughter and live alone with an independent yet affectionate tomcat. Now my children have grown and have lives of their own, I have time to indulge my passion for writing. When not at the computer, you can find me spending time with family, gardening, baking and, of course, reading.

This is me.  This is who I am and I'm loving it!

Lucas Manning, Sr. is married to Winnie, Roy Grayson's mother. Trouble ensues from the moment authorities arrest her son for stalking and terrorizing Lucas' daughter-in-law. Winnie feels guilty and withdraws from the Manning family. Suddenly a threatening phone call disturbs their lives even more as Winnie becomes a target. Can Lucas convince her of her worthiness and save their marriage? Or will danger and loyalty to her son drive a further wedge between them?

Excerpt Trouble Brewing in Thunder Creek:

The warm water sluiced over their hot bodies in a rushing stream as they stood entwined in the tiny stall. Her kisses tasted like chocolate mint from the candy bars they’d snacked on earlier.
She poured a liberal amount of his shower gel into her palm. “Turn around.”
He did as requested, and she dutifully soaped his back. As her hands moved to soap his chest, she rubbed her breasts against him, and he shivered in response to the sensations rioting through his body. When her hands reached to soap his cock, he gasped, taking in a mouthful of water, which he promptly spewed out.
“Lady, you sure are full of surprises,” he said as he turned to face her, rinsing off under the spray before turning the taps off. He grabbed a towel and dried her body, his ministrations causing exquisite little moans to escape her lips. Quickly drying himself, he tossed the towel aside and wrapped an arm around her waist.
Side-by-side, they walked through to the bedroom where he could make love to her in comfort. He loved this woman. He’d shown her every day in every way he could, but the words themselves didn’t come easy, not since his first wife died and took a piece of his heart with her.
As they lay down, he cuddled close and worshipped her body with his hands and mouth, old memories pushed to the farthest recesses of his mind.
Her breasts spilled from his hands as he massaged their silky softness. “So damned soft. I could play with them all night long.”
She clutched his head urging him forward to taste her rosy buds. “Be my guest.”
He laved a tongue over a nipple, teasing before pulling it into his mouth, his hand pinching the other one. Her soft murmur of delight spurred him on. He let go of her breast, with a light bite, trailing kisses down over her abdomen to reach the honeyed prize nested in reddish curls. Her legs spread for him, the most feminine part of her open and waiting for his attention.

AUTHOR AVRIL ASHTON

In the Author's Spotlight today is the superb
Avril Ashton and her
new book Till Abandon
Paranormal Security Council Book 1

Till Abandon (Paranormal Security Council bk#1)

All the power and killer instinct she possesses can’t protect her from the claiming of one determined wolf.

They call her ‘The woman in white,’ whisper ‘Death-Bringer’ with their last breath, but no one knows exactly what she is. Not even Voltaire herself. The deadly magic within her is a living thing, able to crush anyone and everything with a blink. Abandoning the blood-soaked world she’s used to, Voltaire seeks out the one constant in her tired life—the green-eyed wolf in her dreams. She’s ignored the wolf’s call for years, afraid to surrender, but danger haunts her mate. He needs her.

Wolf-shifter Blake Montez is in the middle of a war, battling the usurpers intent on taking over his territory. Unfamiliar magic hums in the air, unnoticed—it seems—by everyone but him. He finds the source already under his nose, in his home. The delicate woman in white knows things no one should know, and the heat simmering between them is unlike anything he’s ever felt. His wolf recognizes her as his mate, though Blake remains unsure he can trust her.

Voltaire sets out to prove herself with time running out, enemies are on the prowl, some foreseen, others remain cloaked in shadow. She and Blake team up, fighting side by side, but in the end Voltaire might be the biggest threat to their love.

EXCERPT

In his apartment over Montez’ bar, Blake Montez lay on his bed, chewing on a toothpick, eyes closed. A psychic disturbance hovered in the air, charged with magic he’d never experienced before. It’d been two days since he’d first felt the soft ripples on his skin, and now it grew stronger, more insistent.
The other half of him, his wolf, clawed to get out, but Blake ignored the need for the moment. While strange and very powerful, the magic didn’t appear malevolent. These powers didn’t come from the cats trying to stake a claim to his territory. Czion, the jaguar leader, didn’t have access to the kind of power Blake felt in the air. Still, he should warn his pack to be wary, to be on the lookout for any strange goings-on. As Alpha, it was his duty to protect them and if this thing posed a threat, they needed to be prepared.
He rose off the bed, pulling on a pair of sweat pants and the black T-shirt he’d discarded earlier. A few of his guys remained downstairs, playing pool and hanging out. He’d tell them his suspicions and ask them to spread the word. Then he’d go for a run. His wolf itched to come out and play tonight.
Halfway down the stairs, he stopped. The unfamiliar magic seemed concentrated in the room below, the bar. He took his time descending the stairs, using his wolf senses to scent out the source. He found it—or rather her—at the bar.
“Marcus, get everyone out now.” Speaking to his beta and best friend, Blake kept his eyes on the woman. She sat with her back to him, dressed to match the snow white of her hair.
“What’s going on, Blake?” Bent over a pool table in the corner, cue in hand, Marcus didn’t sound the least bit disturbed.
“Don’t you feel the ripples in the air?” Blake struggled to quiet the growls rumbling in his throat. The wolf grew ever more restless. His skin tightened and sweat beaded on his forehead as he fought with his wolf for control.
“What ripples? What are you talking about?” Marcus straightened with the pool cue on his shoulder.
God damn, am I the only one feeling the interference?
“Get everybody out. Now.”
Blake approached the bar as Marcus ushered the few confused patrons outside. His friend tossed him a quizzical look and stopped next to the woman.
“She stays.”
“What the hell is going on, B?”
“Just get outside.”
Marcus exited the bar with a shake of his head, closing the door behind him. Blake took a deep breath and strode across to the woman in white.
“You didn’t have to make them leave on my account.” She swung around on the stool to face him.
Blake’s breath seized; his wolf roared. His cock, neglected for longer than necessary, stirred. Her smooth skin glowed the palest ivory, making her appear fragile and untouchable. Bone straight, white hair fell to her waist, getting lost in the white of her tight blouse, distressed jeans and floor length coat. The killer heels on her feet were an obscene red, matching her lips.
I can hear your wolf, she whispered in his head. Why do you suppose he’s fighting so hard to get out?
Blake flinched and stared into her mismatched eyes, feeling like he was floating. He tried getting into her thoughts but came up against a black wall.
That’s right. I can read your mind, but alas, she sighed dramatically, you can’t fuck with mine.
He closed the gap between them on unsteady legs, hands at his sides, heart hammering in his chest. His sweaty skin tightened painfully as the wolf clawed under his skin.
“Who are you?”
“Who do you want me to be, Blake?” Sex dripped from her low voice. Husky and silky-smooth. She posed a threat to him, to his wolf, to—
Now, now. A threat? Li’l ole me? She winked her right eye, the gold one. The left eye sparked a vibrant, violet hue.
“What are you?” Standing next to her with his teeth clenched, Blake couldn’t decide whether to grab her and spread her legs across the bar, or shoot her between those weird, gorgeous eyes.
“Um.” She licked her lips. “I vote for the first option.” He narrowed his eyes and she shrugged. “Just saying.”
“Strange magic surrounds you,” he rasped. “And you bring it here, to my pack.”
“Well, if you want to get technical, the strange magic doesn’t surround me so much as it lives in me.”
Blake reached a hand out, but snatched it back at the last second. “Get out now before I kill you.” He couldn’t have her here, distracting him with her strange pull and her particular brand of magic.
She laughed. Invisible arms wrapped around his waist and jerked him forward. To her.
“There are many reasons you can’t kill me, but let’s start with the one you refuse to acknowledge.” Rising off the stool, she leaned over and dragged her tongue down his neck.
His wolf erupted, awakened further by her touch. His cock, aroused before, hardened to painful proportions. Blake growled and grabbed her by the neck. She stared at him with her lips curved, those eyes twinkling.
The name’s Voltaire, but what do you call me, Blake?
He tightened his fingers around her neck. Her strange-ass pupils dilated. The wolf scented her arousal and went crazy, ready to mark. To claim.
Say it, Blake.
His eyesight dimmed as the wolf grew stronger, his other half already accepting what he fought to deny. Blake jerked her to him, speaking the word before his mouth descended on hers.
“Mate.”
